Mame XML Rom Set Cleaner
Since 2022 I had an AHK script that allowed me to copy only the Mame games I wanted to keep from my full split romset of more than 1 TB
Today I share it with you in the form of an application, the interface is easy to use as you can see:
Before you start, make sure you have the Mame executable file and the full split romset corresponding to the version of the Mame executable (Roms+CHDs+Samples).
Be careful not to use a version lower than 0.162 which is not supported at the moment.
To start with, choose the Mame executable file, then select the XML file, which can be any file created by the generator : Mame XML Full Lists available on this site, or a custom XML file containing Mame sets corresponding to your executable and split romset.
Then indicate the different sources of your romset of Mame, the directory of roms and chds can be the same, do the same with the destination directories. Sets can be either in *.zip or *.7z
All you have to do is click on the start button to start copying the sets including all their dependencies (bios,chd,sample,device), your source romset will not be modified so plan enough free space on your hard drive to store the new copied romset.
This version of this application is in beta-test, depending on user feedback, new modifications may be made.
