KeymasterInstalling the Apple IIGS (GameBase) package for HyperSpin:
/ If it is not already done, download the file of Mark Hardman (May 2009): “AppleII Gamebase uploaded by dax.7z”, I do not provide links, you find it on the net.
/ unzip it in the directory of your choice.
/ Open a window “explore” then go to the directory “Games” where you unzipped the file of step 1 /, in the window at the top right there is “search”
type “* .zip” (without the quotation marks). When all the “* .zip” files are displayed (1287): copy them all and move them to the Apple II and Apple II GS games directory of your choice.3 / A game archive have problem: Unzip the game “Congo Bongo (1983) (Sega) [cr] .zip.zip”, delete it and replace it with the uncompressed file: “Congo Bongo (1983) (Sega ) [cr] .zip “
/ The game “Eamon.zip” is not registered in the database and is not used. The game “Cryllan_Mission_2088.zip” is already present in the database and does not serve either.
/ Download the MAME emulator (https://www.mamedev.org/release.html). And install it in the directory of your choice.
/ Download the file “apple2gs.zip” for MAME (easily found on internet) and place it in the “rom” directory of the installation folder of MAME
/ Add a new system to HyperSpin and RocketLauncher with the name: “Apple IIGS”
/ For Apple IIGS media files for HyperSpin do so: Download the media pack from the “Download” -> “Apple II & GS” menu (1 file of 110 MB) Extract the archive then place the directory “Apple II GS” in the hyperspin media directory “.. \ HYPERSPIN \ Media \”
/ For the XML files contained in “Apple IIGS for HyperSpin (databases) .7z” do so: Download the XML database in the “Download” -> “Apple II & GS” menu, then extract the archive and place the “Apple IIGS” directory in the hyperspin databases directory “.. \ HYPERSPIN \ Databases \” and the “rocketlauncher” databases directory .. .. \ RocketLauncher \ RocketLauncherUI \ Databases \ “
/ For the RocketLauncher module, set the following: Download the new module and its files from the Download menu. Extract the archive and replace the files in the “.. \ RocketLauncher \ Modules \ MAME (Apple IIGS)” directory with the new one.
/ For RocketLauncherUI.exe set as: Select your system “Apple IIGS”, on “Settings” in “7z”: enabled = true, attach system name = false, in “extract path” select the extraction directory of your choice or, if you have already defined it in the GLOBAL system, leave “use_global” if you do not want to keep the uncompressed files choose “Delete Temporary = True”. Then always on “Settings” in “settings”: “Skip Checks = rom only”. In “Emulators”, in “rom Paths” add the folder containing all * .zip games. (moved in step 2) then in “current emulator list …” add: Name = MAME, path = Here select the executable “mame.exe” or “mame64.exe” (depending on your version), rom extensions = 7z | zip, Module = MAME (Apple IIGS), then save. Finally, in “Default Emulator” select “MAME”
/ Ouf it’s over! You can finally play more than 250 Apple II games on your HyperSpin configuration
